Hilton Garden Inn Outer Banks/Kitty Hawk, Kitty Hawk

My stay at the hotel was a mix of pleasant and not-so-great experiences. The location was fantastic, with beach access and nearby amenities, but the room had a noticeable lemon/citrus smell from the aging A/C. The staff provided excellent service, going above and beyond, but the dining options were a bit overpriced and lacked variety.

My stay at the hotel had its ups and downs. The rooms, while spacious and with a couch, were very run down and had an unpleasant odor that seemed like an attempt to mask a smoke smell. The service was welcoming and helpful overall, but there was an uncomfortable situation when my son was questioned about his ID due to a name discrepancy. The location, right on the beach and close to both northern and southern attractions, was definitely the highlight. Dining was a mix of positives and negatives, with good made-to-order omelets but also the inconvenience of picking up breakfast vouchers at the reception desk.
